Heart Cell Memory marks the first recorded collaboration
between noted Los Angeles based improvisors
Devin Sarno (bass) and G.E. Stinson (guitar).

Heart Cell Memory is cloudy low frequency textures merging
into off world resonance. Captured transmissions from unknown latitudes. Warm floating globes of sonic structure
and waveform tectonics. Shifting continents of sound collide
at a glacial pace. Devin Sarno and G.E. Stinson wade neck
deep into the tidal pool of oscillating string theory.

Devin Sarno began CRIB in early 1990 as a solo bass sound
project focusing on improvised subsonics. Over the course of
a decade, the music has evolved from high volume feedback
experimentation to a sonic examination of the meditative
properties of low-end drone music. (In 2003, the CRIB
moniker was retired & Sarno now performs & records under
his own name). Sarno was a founding member of the seminal
L.A. art rock band Waldo The Dog Faced Boy. As a bassist,
Sarno has collaborated/recorded with many diverse acts
including: Nels Cline, Thurston Moore, Joe Baiza, Mike Watt,
Jack Brewer, Z’EV, Jason Kahn, Petra Haden, that dog,
Abby Travis, Danny Frankel, Jeff Gauthier, Tom Surgal,
Upsilon Acrux, Carla Bozulich, Brandon LaBelle, Vincent Gallo and others.

G.E. Stinson: Birthplace: Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Early life:
migratory nomadic. Chicago at 13: hears Bo Diddley on car
radio, purchases guitar. Learns to play blues listening to
Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, etc. Works /hangs
out with Cash McCall, Willie Dixon, etc. ’60s erupt. Flirts
with success as blues rock guitarist. Experiments with other
music forms. Starts learning Charlie Parker tunes. Miles Davis’
"Bitches Brew" alters direction. Starts improvising. 1974: cofounds Shadowfax. Relocates to Los Angeles. Success and
eventual dissatisfaction. 1989: jettisons into Los Angeles
underground music community. Still refining extended
technique, frequency manipulation and laptop pulse
programming.

bad translation:

I have always liked this fucked up label. With the "Heart Cell Memory" release we are served with four very elgiac tracks in which one the digital and handmade hardly can tell apart, and perfectly complement so the quasi-natural cover art that depicts a cherry tree. Four pieces, which one like a spring breath blowing, but not before it frightens you with little whirl of dirt in the airl.
